The Expression Exchange & Educational Programming
The Expression Exchange:
In order to deepen and extend the visitor experience, we created a series of interactive displays in the new Expression Exchange space in the upstairs galleries. Here, visitors can engage more deeply with the content in the exhibition, by responding to prompts in creative and reflective ways. This space also includes a listening station featuring three MoNA Moments Podcasts connected to the exhibition, including:

Welcome to the Expression Exchange, a space for the community to share and trade their reflections in a creative and collaborative format. We invite you to engage with the interactive displays, inspired by the current exhibition in the Outside In Gallery, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls: Honoring Our Stolen Sisters. This is a space to create hope.

Red Dress Pledge: Take an action step to educate yourself and raise awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. You can visit our Resources section for ideas and you can tape a ribbon onto this dress to acknowledge your pledge.

Red Beads: The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls were mothers, daughters, sisters, aunties, nieces, cousins and grandmothers. Please take a moment of silence to honor those that have been lost while you wrap a bead in wire and add it to the yarn as an act of acknowledging the devastating impact of this tragedy.

Resources: Learn more about the context and conditions that lead to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

The Healing Journey: When something terrible happens, it takes some time to get over the pain and feel secure again. Whatever positive changes you want to make in your life: the acceptance of how and where you are at the present moment is one of the keys to moving forward. Here are some ways to heal from emotional trauma.
