Jared Rue
Artist Profile (from Woodside Braseth Gallery website):
Nature is the subject of Rue’s paintings. His artwork started out as oil on canvas but has evolved to use metal leaf combined with spray paints to create serene yet striking landscapes. Rue often uses the landscape as a metaphor for his personal life and messages he wants to convey. His paintings are never straight forward representations of a particular landscape but rather created using his own photos of the natural world as reference to paint something new yet familiar. Rue’s artwork plays with composition to convey what most would consider is a very traditional subject in a more contemporary way. He lives in the Pacific Northwest and spends his time painting in Seattle and Camano Island, WA. He is self-taught. (Gallery Link)
