Class Date: March 15 from 11am-3pm

Cost: $75 (Members get 10% classes and workshops at checkout!)

Ages: 16+

In person class in the MoNA Art Studio. All supplies included!

In this workshop, make a fabric mache bowl using fabric, thread, balloons and glue! Mix and match fabrics to create a functional art piece to bring home. Each student will create up to two bowls!

About Kate Dwyer:

Kate Dwyer’s fabric mache bowls are uniquely made using a technique she developed using thread, fabric and glue. After years as a painter, Kate began making these thread and fabric creations about 5 years ago.

Her work is available at Museum of Northwest Art store, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art Store, and Museo Gallery in Langley. She was recently included in the summer show, Northwest Expressions, at Bainbridge Museum of Art.

Kate lives in Port Townsend.

How to Register for a Class

  1. Click the orange “Add to Cart” button.

  2. Fill out the registration form and click the “Add to Cart” button.

  3. Click on the orange shopping cart icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  4. Click the orange “Checkout” button.

  5. Fill out, review and submit your payment information. Members receive a 10% discount using the discount code on your member card. Lost your code? Email: development@museumofnwart.org.

  6. You will receive a confirmation email after step 5 is completed.

MoNA’s Class Cancellation Policy

If MoNA cancels the class, the student has two options:

  • 100% Non-transferable refund 

  • Generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

If the student decides to cancel the class, they have the following options based on timing of cancellation:

  • Cancels seven days or more before class: 

    • The student has the option of 100% non-transferable refund or can generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

  • Cancels less than seven days before the class or a no show:

    • The student is not eligible for a refund. These funds will be considered a generous donation to support MoNA's Education Programs and the student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

General Amenities and Accessibility Information

  • The facility is wheelchair accessible and an elevator is available in the back of the building

  • A wheelchair is available for visitors

  • Limited seating is provided throughout the galleries and studio space

  • Restrooms are available on both floors of the museum. Changing tables are available in the restrooms on the 2nd floor and an all-gender restroom is available on the 1st floor of the museum
