Drawing in the Galleries with Jean Behnke

Cost: $40 ($30 participation + $10 materials fee)

In-person class at MoNA. All materials provided!

Sign up for a fun workshop at MoNA exploring drawing with solid graphite- materials are provided! We will begin with lively approaches to shake loose your own mark making! Together we will develop a value chart, explore line, shape and space. Drawing fundamentals are touched on to cultivate our awareness. We will finish up with a longer drawing to try out our drawing skills!

This workshop is open to all skill levels- geared for those with minimal drawing experience and also for those wanting to refresh their observational skills!

About Jean Behnke

 Jean Behnke is a visual artist from Lopez Island. Jean has worked and enjoyed opportunities in the Skagit Valley, offering drawing and printmaking workshops for adults and teens at MoNA and other venues. Behnke founded Anchor Art Space in Anacortes- a project offering curated exhibitions, lectures and workshops. Jean lives and works in her studio on Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands. How to Register for a Class

  1. Click the orange “Add to Cart” button.

  2. Fill out the registration form and click the “Add to Cart” button.

  3. Click on the orange shopping cart icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  4. Click the orange “Checkout” button.

  5. Fill out, review and submit your payment information.

  6. You will receive a confirmation email after step 5 is completed.

MoNA’s Class Cancellation Policy

If MoNA cancels the class, the student has two options:

  • 100% Non-transferable refund 

  • Generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

If the student decides to cancel the class, they have the following options based on timing of cancellation:

  • Cancels seven days or more before class: 

    • The student has the option of 100% non-transferable refund or can generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

  • Cancels less than seven days before the class or a no show:

    • The student is not eligible for a refund. These funds will be considered a generous donation to support MoNA's Education Programs and the student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

All questions regarding refunds and cancellations should be directed to education@museumofnwart.org.


General Amenities and Accessibility Information

  • The facility is wheelchair accessible and an elevator is available in the back of the building

  • A wheelchair is available for visitors

  • Limited seating is provided throughout the galleries and studio space

  • Restrooms are available on both floors of the museum. Changing tables are available in the restrooms on the 2nd floor and an all-gender restroom is available on the 1st floor of the museum
