Intergenerational Crown Making w/ Alicia Mullikin

Join artist, Alicia Mullikin for this unique workshop to make a crown with a loved one!

All materials will be provided and all family & friend configurations are welcome!

Ages: all (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
Cost: $38 (total for two participants)
In-person class in MoNA’s Art Studio

You are invited to join us in celebrating National Grandparents Day! This workshop will encourage meaningful dialogue between youth and their elders (all family configurations are welcome) and offer a unique opportunity to create a visual representation of our individual heritage that is passed through generations. We will learn to make a crown while sharing our history with the ones we love.

About the Teaching Artist

ALICIA MULLIKIN is an Indigenous Mexican American artist and the founder of EL SUEÑO, an organization that uses art as a way to create community. All of her work is deeply rooted in her familial ties and history and aims to empower the next generation. She was recently selected as a 2023 Arts Advocacy Leadership Fellow by the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures. Instagram @el.sueno.dance


How to Register for a Class

  3. Click on the orange shopping cart icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  4. Click the orange “Checkout” button.

  5. Fill out, review and submit your payment information.

  6. You will receive a confirmation email after step 5 is completed.

MoNA’s Class Cancellation Policy

If MoNA cancels the class, the student has two options:

  • 100% Non-transferable refund 

  • Generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

If the student decides to cancel the class, they have the following options based on timing of cancellation:

  • Cancels seven days or more before class: 

    • The student has the option of 100% non-transferable refund or can generously choose to donate the full amount to support MoNA's Education Programs. The student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

  • Cancels less than seven days before the class or a no show:

    • The student is not eligible for a refund. These funds will be considered a generous donation to support MoNA's Education Programs and the student will receive a letter acknowledging their donation for tax purposes.

All questions regarding refunds and cancellations should be directed to education@museumofnwart.org.


General Amenities and Accessibility Information

  • The facility is wheelchair accessible and an elevator is available in the back of the building

  • A wheelchair is available for visitors

  • Limited seating is provided throughout the galleries and studio space

  • Restrooms are available on both floors of the museum. Changing tables are available in the restrooms on the 2nd floor and an all-gender restroom is available on the 1st floor of the museum
