Percussionist Bonnie Whiting sonification performance with Corpus to Corpus by ceramic artist Timea Tihanyi. Credit: Timea Tihanyi
Visit MoNA for three short sonification performances by composer and percussionist Bonnie Whiting on the Corpus to Corpus ceramic sculptures by exhibiting artist Timea Tihanyi. Tihanyi's work considers the ceramic medium to be a vehicle for exploring and recontextualizing the experience of being in the body. Her work considers how we inhabit space (of our bodies, of architecture, of our surroundings) using sound, movement, and touch. A series of three sonic performances, each lasting approximately 10 minutes, will be presented in the South Gallery between 1pm and 2:15pm. The performances will be audible throughout the museum and audiences are requested not to congregate near the artworks. Please note that a photographer will be present and the performances will be recorded, but no audience members will be filmed.
