Art Lesson Database
The MoNA Art Lesson Archives is an unique resource featuring an expanding collection of comprehensive lesson plans inspired by Northwest artists. Please visit our Art Lesson Archives home to view highlighted lessons, or you can access all of MoNA’s 100+ lessons on our Lesson Plan Database. You can search for lesson plans for a variety of age levels, media, integrated subjects, keywords, Northwest Artist influences, and time frames. Once you find the general lesson plan you might be interested in, click on the link on the right, and you can then download the lesson plan as a PDF. If you have any questions, suggestions, or lesson plans you would like to share, please email education@museumofnwart.org. Feel free to reach out if you need support with facilitating or adapting any of these lesson plans!
Here are some tips to help you use the database:
1. You can search (Control F on PCs, ⌘F on Mac's) for lesson plans for a variety of age levels, media, keywords, integrated subjects, Northwest Artist influences and time frames. Lessons are organized in chronological order from the youngest to oldest students, but most lessons can be adapted to meet the needs of your particular situation. Feel free to use these lessons as inspiration to build your own and email us at education@museumofnwart.org for support.
2. Once you find the general lesson plan you're interested in, click on the PDF link on the right, and you can then download the lesson plan as a PDF.
3. Many lessons have a free box of art supplies available if you are able to come to the museum for pick up and drop off. You can check one out by clicking on the link in the "Art Box Available" column. Click here to visit our Art Box Lending Library page!
4. Please share your feedback with us using this google form or by emailing your suggestions, questions, etc to education@museumofnwart.org. We are constantly improving the database and your feedback is invaluable to us in this process.
Special thanks to everyone who has contributed to this database, including Maureen Traxler, Lynn Prewitt, Jessica Conway, MoNA Link teachers, Christina Fortune, Education staff, and the many generous supporters of the museum!
