Geology is a multidisciplinary exhibit pairing science and art with the Northwest’s geological findings and the collection’s palette. The works chosen from the Permanent Collection offer an abstract interpretation of our otherwise familiar environment, one also richly diverse. The state of Washington alone is considered a geological “mosaic of pieces.”
This distinct landscape may be surveyed by traveling East from the cool sand of the coastal shorelines, passing by the massive quiet volcanoes and then settling on the desert floor.
The exhibit is curated by Lisa Young.
