Featuring an exhibit of artwork from our MoNA Link and Outreach programs, hands-on art activities for kids and families, local food, music and more! Educators can earn clock hours in a fun printmaking workshop with Nicolette Harrington and learn more about integrating art into the classroom.

This season MoNA has dedicated itself to creating space for youth to share their stories with our community. On display at our Winter Open House, MoNA will feature youth artwork that offers self-expression through visual art combined with poetry.

Beginning in the Fall of 2017, MoNA was thrilled to partner with Voices of the Children and the Skagit River Poetry Foundation on Art and Poetry: Cementing a Bond. Students from across not only our Skagit region but also at the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan were able to work with educators from all three participating organizations to craft an autobiographical poem and selfportrait, inspired by the work of Seattle-based painter Alfredo Arreguin. Both poetry and visual art are media that encourage self-reflection. This is an opportunity for students to better understand themselves as individuals and in connection with their local and global communities.
