Come dive into the high-pressure world of international art auctions, insanely rich Russian oligarchs, and intrigue-ridden 18th century Russia with “The Imperial Wife” by Irina Reyn. The dual-narrative novel follows the marriages of two ambitious women immigrants: one, a rising Russian art expert in a high-end Manhattan auction house set in the present day; the other, a young Catherine the Great in imperial Russia. Discussion facilitated by local writer Anne Basye. Free.
