The Museum of Northwest Art (MoNA) seeks a full-time Development Assistant to assist in the implementation of fundraising strategies and data entry in the areas of donations, memberships, grants, sponsorships and special events. The Development Assistant reports to the Development Director.

MoNA collects, interprets and presents contemporary art from across the Northwest, including Alaska, British Columbia, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, fostering essential conversations and encouraging creativity. The museum aims to provide a rich experience with thoughtful context and personalized attention for visitors from our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities
·         Process donations/memberships & maintain donor giving records in database
·         Provide administrative support for fundraising, including campaign support, gift acknowledgement, sponsorship, and donor recognition
·         Provide technical, clerical, and grant reporting support
·         Assist with donor research, organization and storage of information
·         Assist with fundraising and special events
·         Assist with annual art auction including procurement processing, catalog content, and audience development
·         Assist in development and event postings on website and on social media
·         Prepare materials and minutes for Board and Development committee meetings
·         Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Superior writing and oral communication skills and interpersonal and organizational skills are imperative. The position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, display initiative, and exercise discretion and mature judgment.
·         Exceptional writing and excellent oral communication skills
·         Highly organized, thorough, and detail-oriented
·         Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once
·         Solid professional computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite
·         At least two years working in a nonprofit development office
·         At least two years experience working within a donor database
·         WA State Driver’s License and reliable transportation
Strongly Preferred
·         College degree
·         Desktop publishing experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications
·         Working proficiency with web-based CRMs
·         3+ years experience working with Salesforce donor database
·         Experience working with event-management software
·         Event management experience
·         Grant writing and grant reporting experience
·         Experience working within a nonprofit arts organization
·         A passion for Northwest art
