What a wonderful time to visit La Conner, and September offers a number of great opportunities for fun and introspection at MoNA. During the 35th anniversary year, we are excited to present an expanded version of Surge, now running Sept. 17-25. Scientists and artists collaborate to imagine the impact of climate change on our coastal community through a weeklong exhibition, art activities, and panel discussion. We are thrilled that Steve Moddemeyer, an expert on sustainability, will give the keynote to Surge.

I would like to thank each of you who supported the musem through the auction held on June 18, 2016. You helped raise more than $291,000 to support the museum’s exhibitions, education programs, and outreach efforts. Hundreds of talented artists, dedicated volunteers, and passionate supporters made it a wonderful celebration of Northwest art.

We invite you to experience our upcoming exhibition, Matched Makers, curated by Vicki Halper. This exhibit will feature artworks from more than two dozen artist couples and will fill the entire museum.

As you enjoy the free exhibitions and educational opportunities at MoNA, I hope you will include the museum in your end of year giving. We count on you to help raise most of our budget each year to continue to offer thought-prokoving programming for our community. Together, there is so much we can accomplish.
